What is in the scene
The adult penguin stands close to the smaller chick, and the chick looks upward toward the mother. Two simple hearts float beside them, while small snow and ice shapes sit around their feet. Both penguins are fully visible against a plain white background, with no text or numbering. The clean composition keeps attention on the difference in size between the adult and chick and on their close, affectionate pose.
Penguin facts
Penguins are flightless seabirds adapted for swimming. Their wings have evolved into flippers that help them move efficiently through water. Different penguin species live in different parts of the Southern Hemisphere, and not all penguins live in icy environments. Penguin chicks depend on adults for protection and food during early life. Many species gather in colonies, where large numbers of birds nest or raise young in the same general area. Their dense feathers and a layer of body fat help many penguins stay warm in cold conditions.
Color ideas
- Use classic black and white for the mother penguin with a warm yellow or orange beak.
- Give the chick soft gray, charcoal, cream, or pale brown down.
- Use light blue and very pale gray for the snow and ice shapes around their feet.
- Color the two hearts red, pink, purple, or two different favorite colors.
- Add a small touch of warm yellow or orange to the chick's beak and feet if desired.
