What is shown in the scene

The picture shows a cheerful cartoon mole kneeling on the left side of a small patch of soil. It holds a little garden shovel and appears to be planting or tending the flowers. Two large flowers stand separately in the garden: one has a round daisy-like bloom with many petals, and the other has a simple tulip-like bloom. A few small tufts of grass grow around the soil patch. On the right side stands one large upright uppercase K, completely visible and separated from the garden elements. The mole has a rounded body, broad front paws, a pointed snout, and small facial features. The plain white background keeps the mole, flowers, shovel, grass, soil, and uppercase K easy to see.

Mole facts

Moles are small mammals that spend much of their time underground. Their broad front feet and strong forelimbs are well adapted for digging through soil and building tunnel systems. Moles are not blind, although their eyes are very small and their vision is limited compared with their senses of touch and smell. They mainly eat earthworms and other small invertebrates found in the soil. By digging, moles can move and loosen soil, although their tunnels may also create raised ridges or mounds in lawns and gardens.

Color ideas

  • Mole fur: dark gray, charcoal, brown, or soft black.
  • Shovel: a wooden-brown handle with a gray metal blade.
  • Daisy-like flower: white, yellow, pink, or purple petals with a bright center.
  • Tulip-like flower: red, orange, yellow, pink, or violet with green leaves.
  • Uppercase K: one strong contrasting shade such as blue, green, or orange.
  • Soil and grass: earthy browns for the ground and fresh greens for the grass.
